PHP Journey Start to 2022

PHP (Personal Home Page, later changed to Hypertext Preprocessor) is a scripting language that is run on a server. It is an interpreted language, meaning that it does not require a compiler to run.

What is the PHP and who created this language?

PHP (Personal Home Page, later changed to Hypertext Preprocessor) is a scripting language that is run on a server. It is an interpreted language, meaning that it does not require a compiler to run.

PHP was created by Rasmus Lerdorf in 1994. He wrote it as a set of Common Gateway Interface (CGI) binaries to track how many people visited his online resume. This eventually led him to write the PHP/FI version 1 in 1995. The name PHP/FI comes from Personal Home Page Tools/Forms Interpreter.

Zeev Suraski and Andi Gutmans rewrote the parser that made the PHP language in 1997 and formed the base of what would become PHP 3 and eventually PHP 4. In 1998, they changed their company name to Zend Technologies and released the code under the PHP License v3.0.

PHP 5 was released in 2004 and included improvements such as better support for object-oriented programming languages and more powerful support for MySQL databases.

Year of PHP:

According to Google Trends, most interests in PHP programming language were registered in 2011.

In that year PHP language was in the number one position in the popularity list of programming languages.

Is it still worth learning PHP in 2022?

Yes, PHP will still be relevant in 2022—and here’s why.

PHP is a server-side language, which means it helps to run the background processes of web applications. It was developed in 1994 and has been in use ever since. Though there are newer languages being developed all the time, PHP remains a popular choice for developers because it’s versatile and relatively easy to learn.

PHP runs on more than 80% of websites. It powers sites as diverse as WordPress, Facebook, and Wikipedia. It also powers many behind-the-scenes administrative management systems for companies around the world.

It’s unlikely that this level of demand would decrease significantly anytime soon—especially given how much time and money businesses have invested in mastering PHP.

Most Famous websites built with PHP:

PHP is a powerful language used in the world of websites and applications. Its flexibility makes it one of the most commonly-used languages for web development and is an essential part of the LAMP stack, or Linux-Apache-MySQL-PHP, which allows developers to create dynamic server-side web applications.

The following are some of the most famous websites built with PHP:

Most famous frameworks of PHP:

PHP is a popular programming language and it has many frameworks. But some of them are most famous and mostly used by developers.

1) Laravel: Laravel is one of the most popular frameworks in the PHP world developed by Taylor Otwell. It’s an open source web application framework that is designed for web artisans based on the model-view-controller (MVC) architectural pattern. It is released under an MIT license and it has more than 43,000 stars on Github. Some of its features are a modular packaging system with a dedicated dependency manager, different ways for accessing relational databases, utilities that aid in application deployment and maintenance, and its orientation toward syntactic sugar.

2) CodeIgniter: It’s a powerful PHP framework built for developers who need a simple and elegant toolkit to create full-featured web applications. CodeIgniter provides out-of-the-box libraries for connecting to the database and performing various operations like sending emails, uploading files, managing sessions, etc. This lightweight PHP framework comes with a very small footprint, requires nearly zero configuration, with simple solutions to complex application requirements.

3) CakePHP: CakePHP is an open-source web framework based on MVC architecture and written in PHP programming language.
